A case concerning alleged religious conversions and sexual harassment at a Tata Consultancy Services facility has reached the Supreme Court. An application has been filed in a suo moto case, with a plea claiming that the national racket has shaken the conscience of the country. The controversy involves at least 12 female employees, with nine officially filing First Information Reports. The accused allegedly targeted young women in financial need, passing inappropriate and indecent remarks about Hindu deities and the Hindu religion. Furthermore, the accused made offensive comments regarding the personal and marital lives of the victims. In one instance, a woman unable to conceive faced deliberate remarks that escalated into an indecent proposal and an intention of sexual intimacy. The complaints also highlight the role of the human resources manager, who allegedly won the trust of the affected women but failed to take any actionable steps to address their grievances. The legal proceedings are currently underway at the top court.
