Gaurav Gupta's 'bigger than just fashion' moment ft. Lady Gaga, Doechii
Pop sensations Lady Gaga and Doechii wore outfits designed by Indian designer Gaurav Gupta in the music video of the song 'Runway'.

In another milestone moment for Indian fashion, pop sensations Lady Gaga and Doechii wore outfits by designer Gaurav Gupta in their new music video ‘Runway’. The song is part of the 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' soundtrack.
As expected, the music video is like a fashion explosion. You see Gaga and Doechii flaunting a bevy of high-fashion picks – all set to storm the runway. Think bold and edgy creations by Robert Wun, LUAR and Harris Reed among others. A major chunk of the video, however, shows Gaga and Doechii twisting around in sparkling bodysuits by Gupta.
Gaga rocked a pearl-toned bodysuit densely hand-embellished with crystals and pearls. Doechii, on the other hand, flaunted a black bodysuit finished with spikes and metal studs layered over a base of sequins and crystals.
“These looks were designed as a second skin. With Gaga and Doechii, the idea was to create something immersive and unapologetic, where couture becomes both armour and identity,” Gupta said in a statement.

Each look featured more than 3,000 crystals, applied to create a fully embellished, dimensional surface. And it took over 800 hours of handwork by a team of 20 artists to create of these striking pieces. As for the silhouettes, these bodysuits were constructed as single pieces with attached face coverings, designed to extend from head to toe.
Talking about this yet another big global fashion moment, Gupta told India Today that it was really special to work with Doechii and Lady Gaga for this music video and the experience felt much bigger than just fashion.
“They each have such a strong point of view, and the way they inhabit the clothes makes the whole experience feel much bigger than just fashion,” he said.
Gaurav Gupta is among the few Indian designers to have built a strong global presence. His sculptural creations are a staple on the world’s biggest red carpets, including the Oscars, the Met Gala, and the Grammys.
While Indian celebrities often turn to his designs to showcase the country’s rich fashion craftsmanship, he is now also the go-to couturier in Hollywood. Global stars such as Beyonc, Cardi B, Shakira, Mindy Kaling, and Jenna Ortega have all worn his creations. Lady Gaga’s addition to this roster makes it even more iconic.
