iPhone 17e | Vintage outside, future inside
The iPhone 17e is all about performance over pretence. It might be Apple's most relatable device yet.

Apple has never been particularly shy about charging flagship prices for non-flagship feelings. The iPhone 17e, to its credit, arrives knowing exactly what it is, the sensible shoes in a wardrobe full of stilettos. We took this one out for a spin and here is everything about it.

Old Bones, New Outfit
The iPhone 17e looks a bit like the old iPhones and it knows it. We for one do not mind, because inside it has a new brain this season that many would love to own. The chunky bezels and classic notch might seem dated but still looks good. For most, it is a perfectly solid slab of metal and glass that still feels very premium in hand.
Bright Enough
The 6.1-inch OLED panel is crisp, colourful and perfectly readable outdoors. Though users get 60Hz refresh rate, we were hoping for a far faster display. Scroll through Instagram next to an iPhone 17 owner and you will notice. Everything else, is a smooth sailing.
A Chip That Overachieves
Here is where the iPhone 17e genuinely earns its keep. The A19 processor is no budget chip masquerading as a workhorse. It handles heavy multitasking, AI apps and even demanding games with composed confidence. The camera, a single 48MP unit, produces warm, well-balanced shots and portrait photos that finally feel intentional rather than apologetic. Low-light performance is solid and 4K Dolby Vision video is genuinely impressive. MagSafe is a welcome addition for the travel crowd.
What We Think?
At Rs. 84,900 (512GB), the iPhone 17e is a genuinely sensible choice for anyone upgrading from an older iPhone. The performance is excellent, the camera is competent and the battery comfortably survives a demanding day. Yes, there are a few trade-offs, but overall, the package is well built.
