Unplug the city | Shangri-La Eros's Wellness Club
Exhausted? The Shangri-La Eros's new Wellness Club is your mandatory mind-body reset. Exhale!

A spa at any city five star hotel usually summons more of the same: The tried and tested for the tired and testy. But as urban woes add to the grind of nine-to-nine living, a lymphatic drainage massage or Swedish techniques using aromatherapy oils may not always cut it. Step into the subterranean environs of the cavernous new Wellness Club at the Shangri-La Eros New Delhi and they may just offer a more unique wellness wellspring. Discerning biohackers and wellness connoisseurs will find much to engage, and what makes it even more alluring, at least for me, is that it sits, smack in the middle of Delhi’s racing heart, and yet offers the kind of quietude that is a rationed indulgence at best.

Generously endowed with almost 27,000 sq. ft. of sanctuary space, the fitness area laps up about 4,000 sq. ft. with a gym, yes, but more importantly with advanced recovery therapies, which include the Hypervolt Pro 2 for deep muscle relief, the Normatec 3 (uses dynamic air compression) for enhanced warm-up and recovery, and red-light therapy panels to help with healing, pain relief and improved sleep. Lest I forget, an outdoor 100-feet lap pool, a calming hydrothermal zone with a cold plunge, Finnish Sauna with Himalayan Salt walls, a temperature-controlled whirlpool, and a steam room, all test waters to its best advantage. Of course, AQI-controlled interiors are de rigueur when it comes to choked Delhi, but this is also a 100 per cent plastic-free zone so your soul can take a mini vacation too.
The Spa is a cocooned embrace of languorously outstretched suites, kitted with heated beds, steam showers, bathtubs and an indulgence ensemble that makes sense, sensibility and satiety do a merry jig. Signature rituals that stand out include the Taste of India Retreat, Signature Indulgence, and a Couple’s Serenity Bath—nourishing and quietly romantic in equal parts.
While boosted collagen and skin renewal have earned their place in the beauty pecking order, but the one variable that stands for deep rejuvenation on a cellular level or so they say is mental health. Interestingly, the Wellness Club hosts a psychic and spiritual healer at the club to “elevate inner harmony”.
A spiritual healer at a wellness centre may seem a little unorthodox, but Seerat Garewal Pasricha is clear about what she brings to the table: “Spiritual healing, to me, is less about “fixing” someone and more about helping them reconnect with themselves. Today, even many effectively functioning people feel emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious, or energetically exhausted. My work combines my educational background in psychology with holistic and intuitive practices like energy and chakra work, tarot, guided reflection, breath awareness, and grounding rituals to create space for emotional clarity and inner alignment,” she adds.
So whether it’s action or advice you need, Pasricha recommends creating intentional pauses. And while you’re pondering on existential questions, do so by the poolside, where the pool deck transforms into a living resort, as part of the summer’s Palmera Pool Pop-Up—the hotel’s collaboration with luxury holiday lifestyle brand SHIVAN & NARRESH. Who says wellness can’t make a fashion statement?
