Bhooth Bangla box office Day 5: Exceptional weekday run after Rs 100-crore haul

Akshay Kumar's horror comedy Bhooth Bangla has managed to captivate audiences despite receiving mixed reviews. The film, which had a strong start over its first weekend, continued to perform well during the weekdays, collecting Rs 117 crore in five days.

Directed by Priyadarshan, Bhooth Bangla opened with Rs 12.25 crore on its first day in cinemas. It further collected Rs 19 crore and Rs 23 crore on Days 2 and 3, respectively. The film experienced a decline on its first Monday, bringing in around Rs 6.75 crore. As per trade website Sacnilk, the film, showcased in 11,580 shows across India, earned Rs 7.65 crore nett (gross minus taxes) on its first Tuesday. This brings India's total gross collections to Rs 86.21 crore and the nett collections to Rs 72.40 crore so far.

Internationally, the film garnered Rs 2.50 crore on Day 5, increasing its total overseas gross to Rs 31.50 crore. Consequently, the worldwide gross collection of Bhooth Bangla now stands at Rs 117.71 crore.

In terms of day-wise earnings in India (nett), the film collected Rs 3.75 crore from paid previews, Rs 12.25 crore on Day 1, Rs 19 crore on Day 2, Rs 23 crore on Day 3, Rs 6.75 crore on Day 4, and Rs 7.65 crore on Day 5, accumulating a total of Rs 72.40 crore.

Bhooth Bangla features Akshay Kumar in the lead role and marks his reunion with director Priyadarshan after more than a decade. The film also stars Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Rajesh Sharma, Jisshu Sengupta, Mithila Palkar, the late Asrani, and Wamiqa Gabbi. This is the final screen appearance of veteran actor Asrani.

Bhooth Bangla, which released on April 17, is performing exceptionally well in theatres despite the dominance of Dhurandhar 2. The Ranveer Singh starrer was released in theatres on March 19.
