In an exclusive chat with India Today, actor Danish Iqbal opened up about playing Bade Sahab in Dhurandhar: The Revenge. He shared that he is currently soaking in the love that the film and his performance are getting.

"It's absolutely amazing, especially because there was so much curiosity around it. Honestly, in the last three months, there were multiple moments when I wanted to raise my hand and say, 'I am Bade Saab'. I wanted the world to know it, but was tied to my commitment," he said with a laugh.

The actor added that he shot for the film in 2024, with a few scenes being shot even last year. And while filming was a memorable experience, seeing himself in that role was a completely different experience for him.

Actor Danish Iqbal has opened up on playing Dawood Ibrahim aka Bade Saab in Dhurandhar: The Revenge. In an exclusive chat, he shared details about the secrecy around his role, the intense preparation it required, and the overwhelming audience response. 

While Flipperachi’s FA9LA from Dhurandhar’s first instalment went viral last year, the new release features an Arabic raï track titled Didi, created and performed by Algerian artist Khaled. While the previous track focused on Akshaye Khanna, this one is all about Ranveer Singh.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge screenings saw loud cheers for the scenes where Prime Minister Narendra Modi appears. While theatres reacted positively, the moment also drew responses online, too.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge shows Ranveer Singh at his best. India Today gave 3.5-star rating in its review. A part of the review read, "Aditya Dhar hands the film almost entirely to Ranveer Singh's Hamza Ali Mazari, and makes a visibly decisive choice. This is no longer just a story about geopolitics or espionage; it becomes a character study disguised as a war film. Hamza's journey, from Jaskirat Singh Rangi, an idealistic young soldier from Punjab, to Lyari's feared king, and back to being India's Jassi, forms the emotional strength of the film. It is this oscillation between identities that gives the film its rare, unsettling depth.

Shilpa Shetty watched Dhurandhar: The Revenge along with her mother and sister Shamita.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared that Dhurandhar; The Revenge sold 107.6 tickets in one hour. "#DhurandharTheRevenge is on (fire emojis) today [Thursday]... 107.61 k tickets booked in last one hour on #BMS... BOXOFFICE TSUNAMI. #Dhurandhar2 (sic)," read his tweets.

Kartik Aaryan shared a post on his Instagram Story to praise Dhurandhar: The Revenge. "#DhurandharTheRevenge is Top Notch. @adityadharfilms has created an unforgettable cinematic experience and @ranveersingh delivers a storm. A must watch," he wrote. 

Actor-influencer Ashish Chanchlani expressed that casting director Mukesh Chhabra deserves a separate National Award just for the casting alone.

Actor Bellamkonda Srinivas praised Dhurandhar 2 on Thursday, saying the film is high on intensity, emotion, and goosebumps. He commended Ranveer Singh's performance and the connection he had built with the Telugu audience. He also gave a shout-out to actor R Madhavan and director Aditya Dhar. 

Grammy Award-winning composer Ricky Kej praised Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar 2 by calling it a masterpiece. He said Dhurandhar: The Revenge is longer than the previous instalment, but it felt shorter.
