Dhurandhar 2 Box Office Highlights: Jameel Jamali's Lyari home is a Chandigarh mansion

Director-producer Karan Johar called Dhurandhar: Their Revenge actor Ranveer Singh's career-best work. He also praised the film's director Aditya Dhar's storytelling.

Karan's Instagram post read, "The discussions on testosterone, hyper-alpha energy and deep-rooted patriotism will continue as it must BUT #DHURANDHAR2 is so much more than that the heart-wrenching backstory of Jaskirat the heartbreaking sacrifices made for our motherland. While praising Aditya's direction and the film's soundscape, Karan added, "the soundscape and the all round cinematic prowess proves the brilliance and directorial command of ADITYA DHAR what an absloutely astounding and outstanding filmmaker he is he not only raises the mainstream bar but also creates a new one yeh naya director hai!!! Actor Kubbra Sait reacted to the ongoing discourse around Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar (2025) and Dhurandhar: The Revenge (2026). She called the Aditya Dhar directorial a "well-made film."

Kubbra, in an exclusive interview with India Today, said, "As far as the propaganda conversation goes, I would just say, it’s been narrated from a perspective, and one should appreciate that, which is fair. And as a film, it works well, and it's a good film."

Dhurandhar: The Revenge action director Aejaz Gulal recalled women covering their eyes during the film's action scenes. However, he mentioned that overall the Aditya Dhar directorial received a positive response.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Gulal said that the action sequences are getting a lot of appreciation but he did notice that some women were covering their eyes during the more intense moments.

The song Jaan Se Guzarte Hain in Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar: The Revenge has a connection to actors Sanjay Dutt and Tabu. The original qawaali sung by late Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan earlier featured in a 1896 Hindi film.

Jaan Se Guzarte Hain  was filmed on Sunny Deol and Tabu in the 1996 film Jeet. The film also feartured actors Karisma Kapoor and Salman Khan in key roles.

Casting director Mukesh Chhabra recalled having differences with director Aditya Dhar over Dhurandhar casting. He revealed that the two-film series took two years to cast.

Chhabra, in an interview with Hindustan Times said, "In two parts, there are more than 300 people, and casting every role was difficult. It took two years of my life, and eight of my assistants worked day and night on the film, creating every look and finding every actor fit for each role. But it was so fun."

The casting director said that he and Dhar worked together despite their fights. "Aditya and I have been friends, so we can fight a bit. We can reach that common ground. There were lots of discussions where I heard him, he heard me, and we fought. But his brief was very clear, and that helped. I could visualise what he was imagining and what he wanted. There was no confusion," he added.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge actor Rajat Arora reacted to the AI-generated image controversy. While defending Aditya Dhar, he said that the filmmaker wouldn't "do anything that disrespects any religion or hurts sentiments."

"Honestly, I was quite surprised when the controversy surfaced. Knowing Aditya Dhar, sir, and the kind of filmmaker he is, I’m confident he would never do anything that disrespects any religion or hurts sentiments. He is extremely particular about every detail, and that’s something audiences truly appreciate about his work. It was quite disappointing that an AI-morphed visual was used to create unnecessary noise," Arora was quoted as saying by Times Now.

He highlighted that while social media gives everyone a voice, it also comes with responsibility. "We need to be more mindful about what we share, especially when it can hurt people’s sentiments. I’m glad Aditya sir addressed it publicly and cleared the air," the actor added.

Casing director Mukesh Chhabra has revealed that actors Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt were skeptical before signing director Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar.

Chhabra, in an interview with Hindustan Times, said, "Initially, even Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt and Akshaye Khanna were not sure about being a part of the film. Only R Madhavan said yes. For the others, it took time. Aditya and I were considering so many people, and honestly, earlier, we had never thought we would cast so many big stars."

"We had a very different kind of actors in mind. Then I pushed him to think bigger. When you start a film, you wonder how so many big actors will come on board. At first, none of this was there, but gradually, as we discussed, it started falling into place," he added.

Actor Arjun Rampal recalled when he was unable to recognise his co-star R Madhavan on Dhurandhar set. While praising the actor's craft, Rampal admitted that he was surprised by Madhavan's look and dialogue delivery.

While praising Madhavan, Rampal said, "This is the first time I am working with him. Unfortunately, we did not have any scene together in the film. But I remember the first day I went to the Dhurandhar set was in Bangkok. Bahut baarish ho rahi thi (It was raining heavily). Maddy was shooting, aur main gaya (I went there) and asked, kaun hai yeh actor (Who is this actor)?"

"Itna accha dialogue bol raha hai. Kya casting ki hai Mukesh bhai ne (Such a fine dialogue delievery. What a perfect casting by Mukesh Chhabra). It was Maddy. I didn't recognise him. He is phenomenal," the actor added.

Actor Rakesh Bedi's Dhurandhar home in Lyari is a beautiful mansion located in Sector 9, Chandigarh. Bedi portrays Pakistani politician Jameel Jamali in the Aditya Dhar directorial.

Gayatri Bedi, founder of Gayatri Bedi Designs, shared details about the private property, in an interview with NDTV. She said, "Aditya Dhar's team got in touch with us through our local team to coordinate the shoot." 

"The decor reflects a refined, high-end aesthetic in line with the design philosophy of Gayatri Bedi Designs," Bedi added. A few days ago, the firm shared an Instagram video of the luxury property, as well as behind-the-scenes footage from the scene, featuring Ranveer Singh and Sara Arjun.

As Yalina walks inside, the path leading to a big wooden door is flanked by luxurious cars. It might be a politician's residence in the film, but in reality, it's a mansion equipped with modern amenities.

Spanning over 38,000 sq ft, the property has nine spacious bedrooms. The mansion includes a billiards room, spa, salon, gym, sauna, private pool, and a home theatre.

A Times of India report quoted Aditya Dhar, saying, "Mukesh had done almost 1300 auditions, and Sara Arjun was the one who got selected; she was just brilliant, the best of all."

Pakistani politician Nabeel Gabol, on whom Rakesh Bedi’s character Jameel Jamali is allegedly based in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, has expressed his views on the film.

Gabol, in a viral video said, "These people cannot fight against Pakistan. They have made a film and, in it, they have made Lyari internationally famous. The people of Lyari do not care; they are very strong. The role based on me was given to a comedian, Rakesh Bedi. Rakesh Bedi is claiming that he isn't portraying Nabeel Gabol, but has created a character based on everyone generally. Nowadays, there is a lot of trolling on social media asking why Nabeel Gabol has fallen silent. Today, see for yourself—Nabeel Gabol will certainly give you an answer. Just as our Pakistani army gave you an answer, I too will give you an answer regarding what Lyari truly is."

Actor Danish Pandor has revealed that he was not present on set when Yami Gautam Dhar filmed her cameo in Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The actor, who portrays Uzair Baloch in the Aditya Dhar-directed film, said he was "surprised" when he came to know about Yami’s appearance.

Danish, in an interview with CNN News 18, said, "I wasn’t aware of her cameo – in the sense that I didn’t know at what point she comes in. These decisions are all taken by the director himself. So, I was completely oblivious of it. I was totally surprised as I wasn’t there when she shot for her cameo."

"Her part in this film is done so beautifully. It’s such a strong cameo. She enters the frame and the whole frame lifts up. It was a delight to see her onscreen. I personally think Yami ma’am is a beautiful actress and a terrific performer at the same time. She has done a phenomenal job in her recent film, Haq, the actor went on.

While praising Danish's performance, Yami added, "I was in awe of what she did in it. For us, as actors, these performances inspire us. To break the rhythm, to understand the world, to give such amazing monologues, to deliver those scenes… all of it was incredible! The way she has built her career is absolutely amazing."

Actor Danish Pandor, who portrayed Uzair Baloch in Dhurandhar: The Revenge (2026), recalled a time when only 50 people watched the film’s prequel on its opening day.

Danish, in an interview with ABP News, said that it was a ‘heartbreaking’ moment for him when he saw just 40–50 people watching Dhurandhar (2025) on the opening day. 

"It’s all about the audience. I remember the film released on Friday after the screening got cancelled on Thursday. I was completely heartbroken. I couldn’t understand what was happening. I kept thinking, ‘It is such a great film, why is this happening?’ And on top of that, there was too much negative publicity around it. When the film finally released on Friday, I went for the 2:30 pm show. There were barely 40–50 people in the theatre. I kept wondering — we have made such a beautiful film, and there are no viewers," Danish said.

"Suddenly people began watching it and talking about it on social media. It picked up so well that there was no looking back. The reality is, no matter how much negativity surrounds a film, when audiences decide to show their love, nobody can stop them. That’s what matters most. Dhurandhar is a testament to the love people have for the film, its characters, and every department," the actor added.

A social media influencer has shared a Pakistani couple's reaction to director Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar. While mocking the film, the Pakistani man described Sara Arjun’s miniskirt scene as "unrealistic."

While speaking about the scene, the Instagram handle, titled thebesharamfoodie, said, "There’s no way a woman can roam alone on the streets of Lyari in a miniskirt. That doesn’t happen. There was another scene about a party and an underground rave (in Naal Nachna song) where signs are written in Urdu. There are no signs in Urdu, it’s just written in English."

While reacting to a dialogue about Lyrari in Dhurandhar, the Pakistani man said, "Dhurandhar is a little overrated. There was a line that we Karachites found very funny. Whoever controls Lyari, controls Karachi. And whoever controls Karachi controls Pakistan. We Karachis say that Karachi is a non-native city. It’s a city for orphans or whatever. And you cannot control Pakistan from there."

"If you want to do it, it can be done from Lahore. For context, my family was originally from Lyari. There was, and there is some gang violence there. But, it’s just between two neighbourhood gangs," he added.

Actor Yami Gautam, who has a cameo appearance in her director-husband Aditya Dhar’s espionage-thriller Dhurandhar: The Revenge, was seen secretly watching the film in a packed theatre. Her sister Surilie Gautam shared a reaction of Yami enjoying the film in a packed theatre and reacting to her scene.

Surilie's Instagram story, featuring Yami's reaction, was captioned, "Take a bow yet again for one and only @adityadharfilms. Another masterpiece!! Actor Deepak Tijori on Thursday took to Instagram to question the kind of recommendations made by the censor board to the team of Dhurandhar: The Revenge. His note comes amid ongoing discussions about why certain cuss words in the film were only partially muted, instead of being removed entirely.

Cricketer Axar Patel collaborated with content creator Shubham Gaur for a reel where he channelled his inner Jameel Jamali, a character played by Rakesh Bedi in Dhurandhar. 

The Dhurandhar film series has hit the Rs 2,244 crore mark in seven days worldwide. It is the only series with a 100 per cent success in the Rs 500 crore single-language club (Hindi). The film has surpassed the home-market records of the Baahubali and Pushpa series, reported the trade website Sacnilk. 

While the audience seems obsessed with various "peak detailing" moments from Aditya Dhar in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, another one has hit the buzz: R Madhavan's viral "Hum mard hain" dialogue. 

Delhi PWD and Deputy Chief Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma on Wednesday referred to former CM Arvind Kejriwal as "Delhi ka Rehman Dakait," a character played by Akshaye Khanna in Dhurandhar. He shared a video titled "Dhurandhar Part 3" in which he slammed Kejriwal for allegedly robbing the people of Delhi. 

"Kejriwal was like Rehman Dakait who robbed public wealth," he said. 

Actor Imran Khan seemingly took a jibe at Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar: The Revenge during an AMA session. While discussing his return to the mainstream cinema in a full-fledged role, he said he would never play an "angry man covered in blood."

"Yeah, no interest in playing a hairy, angry man covered in blood. I think that genre is generously represented," he told the fan, hinting at Ranveer Singh's portrayal of Indian spy Hamza Ali Mazari in the film.
