COVID19: Different Mutant Strains Detected in India

Covid-19 transmission in India is exploding at a rate unseen anywhere in the world so far. Amid this, a new variants of the virus causing Covid-19 has been detected in India.
The 'Indian strain' of the coronavirus, also known as B.1.617 or a 'double mutant', has been found in at least 17 countries.
Researchers are trying to figure out whether it could be causing the surge in cases and what that could mean for the rest of the world.
