Greta Thunberg Toolkit Case: Why Was 21-Year-Old Climate Activist Arrested?

Disha Ravi is a graduate in Bachelor of Business Administration from a private college in Bengaluru. The 21-year-old climate activist is also one of the founding members of a group named 'Fridays For Future India'. However, this is not the first time Disha is having a run-in with the law. People close to her say she and Fridays For Future have been under the lens over several environmental campaigns. FFF was founded by Greta in 2018 and Disha is one of the co-founders of the India chapter. Over the last few years, she had been coordinating strikes in different areas of Bengaluru every Friday over climate issues. A graduate from Mount Carmel College in Bengaluru, Disha is actively involved in environmental issues across India. She has appeared in media reports across the world, including ‘The Guardian’ and ‘Vogue’, for her campaigns. Her motivation to become a climate activist came from watching her grandparents, who are farmers and struggle with the effects of climate change, she told Auto Report Africa last year.
