Ministers resign ahead of Cabinet reshuffle

The much-awaited cabinet reshuffle is expected to take place in the evening of Saturday. The process has already seemingly kicked off with Rajiv Pratap Rudy resigning as the Skill Development Minister. Rudy, who is an MP from Saran in Bihar, is likely to be sent back to his home state as Bihar deputy chief minister, sources told India Today.

Leaders of some opposition parties, led by the DMK, met President Ram Nath Kovind today and requested him to direct Tamil Nadu Governor C Vidyasagar Rao to convene a floor test in the Assembly after 19 AIADMK MLAs withdrew their support to the Palaniswami dispensation. The DMK said it would continue to take up the issue with various authorities until the governor convenes a floor test.
