PM Modi files nomination from Varanasi, SC to hear harassment case against CJI; more

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will file the nomination papers from his stronghold constituency, Varanasi today. He will be accompanied by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah and other heavyweight leaders from NDA, Shiv Sena, Akali Dal and Lok Jan Sshakti party and JD (U).

A three judge panel headed by Justice SA Bobde will hear the sexual harassment allegation case against CJI Ranjan Gogoi today. The Supreme Court has ordered probe into the alleged conspiracy of “framing” the chief justice of India. Former SC judge AK Patnaik will head the probe into the allegation against CJI Ranjan Gogoi.
