The brutal rape and murder of the 26-year-old Telangana veterinarian has led to a nationwide uproar. The Congress today is expected to protest against the same in Parliament today. The Telangana Police will seek remand of the four accused arrested in the case. According to sources the Cyberabad Police is making arrangements to conduct the trial at a fast-track court.
Meanwhile, in other news, the Delhi government has "strongly recommended" to reject the mercy petition filed by one of the 2012 Nirbhaya murder case convicts, sources said on Sunday. Vinay Sharma, one of the convicts facing the gallows in the gangrape and murder case of a 23-year-old paramedic student, had filed a mercy petition before President Ram Nath Kovind.
