As voting in the second phase of assembly election in West Bengal and Assam began at 7 am today, after 2 hours, 13% voter turnout was seen in Bengal while Assam saw 10.51% till 9 am.
While a total of 30 seats in Bengal and 39 seats in Assam are voting in this phase, all eyes will be on Nandigram where Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is up against her former aide and heavyweight leader Suvendu Adhikari in his bastion. Mamata Banerjee has given up her traditional Bhowanipore seat to contest from Nandigram in a challenge to defeat Suvendu Adhikari, who ditched TMC and joined BJP months ahead of the Bengal assembly election.
