Siddaramaiah resigns, paves way for DKS: Will it be smooth transition or turbulence ahead?

Siddaramaiah on Thursday resigned as Karnataka Chief Minister, ending days of suspense after the Congress high command asked him to step down and pave the way for his deputy DK Shivakumar. Now, the stage is set for a DKS sarkara in Karnataka. DK Shivakumar's oath ceremony will held be in front of Vidhan Soudha either on Sunday or Monday and all the Congress chief ministers will be invited to the event. However, Siddaramaiah declined Congress's Rajya Sabha offer and said he would remain active in state politics and had no interest in shifting to a national role.
