Rescue teams struggle as bad weather hampers relief ops in flood-hit Uttarkashi

Security forces, including the Army, ITBP, NDRF, and SDRF, are facing harsh weather and treacherous terrain as they conduct rescue operations in Uttarakhand’s flood-ravaged regions. Flash floods and mudslides have devastated areas like Dharali and Harsal, cutting off key roads and disrupting connectivity. Thick fog, persistent rains, and poor visibility have grounded helicopters, including MI-17s and Chinooks, limiting aerial operations. NDRF teams remain stranded in Dehradun due to cloud cover, which is expected to persist for the next 2–3 days.
