In a groundbreaking achievement for India's private space sector, Agnikul Cosmos has triumphantly launched its SOrTeD mission.
This mission showcased a single-stage launch vehicle demonstration powered by a semi-cryogenic 3D-printed engine. Lasting around two minutes, the mission represents a significant leap forward in the development of indigenous space technology, both for the company and the nation.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) extended its congratulations to the Chennai-based space startup, hailing the launch as "a major milestone." Taking off from India's inaugural private launchpad, ALP-01, situated at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, the SOrTeD mission was initially slated for April 7 but faced delays due to technical issues.
