But much like in the SRH game, the ball went high in the air and caught at the third man region, leading to a stunned silence inside the stadium. The applause soon followed but the 15-year-old was beside himself on his way back to the pavilion.

Sooryavanshi started on a slow note as GT started with a clear plan of targeting his body. The 15-year-old got his first boundary in the third over of the innings, but wasn't at his explosive best as RR lost both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel early.

He added one more boundary in the same over and found the perfect partner in Ravindra Jadeja, who got ensured that the run-rate was boosted up and Sooryavanshi was kept calm at the other end.

Jadeja and Sooryavanshi added 73 runs before the former had to go off with an injury. Once again, Sooryavanshi kept showing bursts of explosiveness here and there but it was a far cry from the 97 off 29 balls against SRH.
