In essence, you can play triple AAA titles such as Cyberpunk or GTA V on the cloud in high resolution on any device, be it your smartphone, laptop or smart TV.

Do note Nvidia is not the only company offering cloud gaming in India. Late last year, Microsoft launched Xbox Cloud Gaming. Jio offers something similar with JioGames.

But what is Nvidia GeForce, and should you consider signing up for this new service? Here are all the details.

What is Nvidia GeForce?

GeForce Now is Nvidia’s cloud gaming service that uses the company’s Blackwell RTX architecture, specifically using RTX 5080 SuperPODs. Nvidia claims that GeForce Now can deliver up to 2.8x better performance compared to the previous server generation. That is, you can play games seamlessly via the cloud at up to 5K resolution and 240 FPS.

You can connect your existing game libraries from platforms such as Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox Game Pass, and Ubisoft Connect. This will allow you to potentially make the switch to the service without losing your existing games.

Nvidia also offers over 4,500 titles via GeForce Now. The game library also includes “install-to-play games” from Stream which can be downloaded directly on the cloud for you to play.

The company says you can experience high-end gaming with “High FPS, ray tracing, and ultra-low latency.”

Nvidia GeForce Now price in India

The service is currently in early access in India. Users can join through a waitlist system, with invitations being sent on a first-come, first-served basis. Nvidia has announced special introductory pricing for GeForce Now. The Performance plan is available for Rs 999 for 90 days, while the Ultimate tier is priced at Rs 1,999 for the same period.

Both plans offer “install-to-play games” with a 100GB limit for one-time sessions with the option to purchase additional 200GB storage for Rs 299.

Do note that only the Ultimate tier can provide gaming experience with the Nvidia RTX 5080 for select games. The standard for the top-tier is RTX 4080 though. On the other hand, the Performance tier restricts gameplay to up to 1440p at 60 FPS. The company is also planning a Free tier that will be supported with ads. But it is not available just yet.

For some context, Xbox Cloud Gaming is included in the Xbox Game Pass subscription, which starts at Rs 499 per month in India.
