AI Siri first look leaks before WWDC, here is everything we know so far
Ahead of WWDC 2026, a new report reveals how Apple's redesigned AI-powered Siri could work inside the iPhone. The reported redesign points to a more chatbot-like, context-aware assistant with broader search and task tools.

Apple Worldwide Developers Conference 2026 (WWDC 2026) is just a few weeks away, and the company is expected to unveil a revamped Siri along with a bunch of new artificial intelligence features at the event. Ahead of the launch, a new Bloomberg report has offered a glimpse into how Apple’s AI-powered Siri could work inside the iPhone.
For starters, Google has already confirmed that it has partnered with Apple to power the upcoming Siri upgrade with its Gemini AI model. The report now suggests that Apple could be redesigning the entire Siri experience to make it feel more like a modern AI chatbot.
Siri may move into the Dynamic Island
According to illustrations shared by Bloomberg, Siri could now live inside the iPhone’s Dynamic Island. This mode may work best for quick voice queries or searches, similar to how people currently use Siri.
Users would still be able to wake Siri by saying “Siri” or by holding the iPhone’s power button. But Apple may also introduce a new swipe-down gesture from the top centre of the screen to open a “Search or Ask” interface.
The swipe-down gesture would still open search, but those searches could now be powered by the new AI-based Siri. The interface is expected to include existing iOS 26 elements, such as Siri Suggestions, along with new AI-focused features.
From this interface, users may be able to search the web, launch apps, start messages, check the weather, add calendar appointments, search notes, and trigger app shortcuts.
Siri could work more like ChatGPT
According to Bloomberg, Siri’s responses may appear as rich text cards expanding from the Dynamic Island. Users could also swipe down further to continue conversations inside a dedicated Siri app in a chatbot-style interface.
Apple is reportedly considering support for third-party AI services like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini within this new experience.
Because Siri may now be accessible from the top centre of the screen, users could need to swipe down from the top left side of the iPhone to access the Notification Center.
The report also says Apple may launch a dedicated Siri app designed to compete with AI chatbots like ChatGPT and Claude. Users may be able to interact with Siri through both text and voice, upload photos and documents, and revisit previous conversations through chat history.
Siri may also become more context-aware
The upgraded Siri is also expected to search the web and use on-screen information and personal data to complete tasks.
According to Bloomberg, users may be able to ask Siri about available time slots before scheduling appointments or check whether events overlap on their calendars.
