The wait for the biggest and most powerful Bullet yet could soon be over. Royal Enfield is expected to launch the Bullet 650 in India by late May or early June, bringing one of motorcycling’s most iconic nameplates into the brand’s twin-cylinder family.

Expected launch timeline and price

Royal Enfield is likely to introduce the Bullet 650 in India in late May or early June. In terms of pricing, the motorcycle is expected to be positioned close to the Classic 650 range.

For reference, the base Hotrod variant of the Classic 650 is priced at Rs 3.65 lakh (ex-showroom), which means the Bullet 650 could carry a similar price tag, making it one of the more premium offerings in Royal Enfield’s retro motorcycle portfolio.

Most powerful Bullet ever

The Bullet 650 will mark a major milestone for the legendary Bullet nameplate, which has remained in continuous production since 1932 and continues to enjoy cult status among Indian riders.

With the introduction of Royal Enfield’s 650cc parallel-twin platform, the Bullet enters a new era, promising stronger highway performance, smoother cruising and improved long-distance touring ability while retaining its classic laid-back appeal.

Powering the motorcycle is the familiar 647.95cc parallel-twin engine seen across several Royal Enfield 650 models. The motor develops 47bhp at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm of torque at 5,650rpm and comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

Classic Bullet styling remains intact

Despite the mechanical transformation, Royal Enfield has stayed faithful to the motorcycle’s unmistakable identity.

The Bullet 650 retains the signature upright stance, teardrop-shaped fuel tank with the iconic winged badge and the distinctive casquette-style headlamp housing. The motorcycle also continues to feature vintage-inspired “tiger-eye” pilot lamps, a styling detail linked to older Bullet models dating back to the 1950s.

The all-metal construction, hand-painted pinstripes and traditional proportions further reinforce its retro charm. Even with the larger engine and updated platform, the overall silhouette remains instantly recognisable as a Bullet.

Chassis, suspension and hardware

Underneath its classic styling, the Bullet 650 rides on a steel tubular spine frame and gets 43mm telescopic front forks along with twin rear shock absorbers.

Royal Enfield has retained the commanding road presence associated with the Bullet by equipping it with a 19-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel setup.

Braking duties are handled by a 320mm front disc and a 300mm rear disc, supported by dual-channel ABS for added safety.

The motorcycle also focuses on rider comfort, featuring a wide bench seat and raised handlebars designed to deliver a relaxed and upright riding posture. The seat height stands at 800mm, while kerb weight is expected to be 243kg. A 14.8-litre fuel tank should further strengthen its touring credentials.

Features with a retro touch

While the Bullet 650 stays true to its old-school aesthetic, Royal Enfield will incorporate several modern features for everyday usability.

The motorcycle is expected to come with an LED headlamp, LED tail lamp and a semi-digital instrument cluster displaying trip information, gear position indicator and service reminders. A USB Type-C charging port will also be included to improve practicality for touring riders.

With familiar mechanicals, timeless design and stronger touring capabilities, the motorcycle is likely to appeal not only to long-time Bullet loyalists but also to buyers seeking a classic retro motorcycle with improved refinement and everyday usability.
