According to police, no suicide note was recovered from the spot. A case of unnatural death has been registered and an investigation is underway.

Twisha’s family, who rushed to Bhopal from Noida after the incident, alleged that she had been facing mental and emotional distress since her marriage. Her brother, Major Harshit Sharma, an officer in the Indian Army, claimed that Twisha had called him shortly before her death and spoke about the pressure she was under.

According to the family, Twisha had left her job after marriage to settle in Bhopal with her husband. However, disputes allegedly arose after her in-laws and husband began pressuring her to take up another job. The family further alleged that Twisha had recently experienced an unplanned pregnancy and was not mentally prepared to become a mother at that stage. However, they claimed she was being pressured over the issue, adding to her distress.

Relatives said Twisha had even booked a railway ticket to return to Noida, indicating that she wanted to leave Bhopal and stay with her family. Before she could do so, however, she allegedly took the extreme step.

Following the incident, Twisha’s post-mortem was conducted at AIIMS Bhopal and her body was later handed over to the family. Grieving relatives also met Bhopal Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar and demanded an FIR against her husband and in-laws.
