Govt prioritising positive changes for deprived: Rekha Gupta on Ambedkar Jayanti
On the 135th birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta paid a floral tribute and inaugurated several water ATMs in her constituency, Shalimar Bagh.

On his 135th birth anniversary, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta paid tribute to the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, BR Ambedkar. Through a post on X, Gupta said that the life and struggles of India’s first Law Minister serve as “an inspiration” to her government’s administrative journey. She also said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP-ruled governments in the centre and state are working to uplift the lives of Dalits, Backward Classes, and other marginalised backgrounds.
“Under the guidance of the Honourable Prime Minister Ji, we are working with complete sensitivity to realise Baba Saheb's dream of social justice. Our government considers bringing positive change in the lives of Dalits, backward classes, and the deprived as its utmost priority,” Gupta wrote on X.
Emphasising further, the Delhi Chief Minister mentioned that the Delhi government is working to ensure economic and social empowerment of people belonging to marginalised backgrounds through a range of welfare schemes.
She also said that the BJP government is fulfilling opportunities for modern education for children from deprived sections, in line with Ambedkar’s ‘Educate yourselves’ call.
“We are committed to building an inclusive Delhi in line with Baba Saheb's ideals of equality and dignity, where every citizen gets an equal opportunity to progress,” Gupta wrote on X.
CM PAYS FLORAL TRIBUTE TO BR AMBEDKAR STATUE
Gupta paid floral tribute to the BR Ambedkar statute at the Ambedkar National Memorial earlier this morning.
In addition, she also inaugurated multiple water ATMs in parts of her assembly constituency, Shalimar Bagh.
Speaking to the press after the inauguration, she upheld Ambedkar as the “strong pillar of democracy on which the edifice of Indian democracy stands in the present day.”
The ATMs have a capacity to provide 2,000 litres of pure water per hour, based on a five-stage RO technique.
Gupta said people will be able to use water ATM cards to take 20 litres of water every day, and the machines will be monitored round-the-clock.
