The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday conducted raids at the residence of the General Manager of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) Red Hills division in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case and seized huge amounts of cash.

The searches were carried out simultaneously at eight locations, including Hyderabad, by multiple ACB teams. The raid at the officer SL Kumar's residence was led by ACB DSP Majeed Ali Khan.

According to sources, ACB officials also searched the houses of Kumar’s relatives and close associates as part of the investigation.

During the raids, officials reportedly recovered huge amounts of cash stacked in bundles, leaving investigators shocked. Currency counting machines were brought to the premises to assess the seized cash.

Officials are now scrutinising financial records, property documents and other materials linked to the alleged assets. The agency is probing whether the wealth recovered is disproportionate to Kumar’s known sources of income.

The total value of the cash and assets seized has not yet been officially disclosed.

Further investigation is underway.
