2 killed, 1 critical as car crashes into divider on Mumbai-Pune Expressway
A Skoda car travelling from Mumbai to Pune crashed into a divider on the expressway. The impact drove an iron sheet through the vehicle, leaving two people dead and one critically injured.
Two people died, and one person sustained critical injuries after a Skoda car crashed into a divider on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway on Wednesday.
According to the information available, the Skoda car was travelling from Mumbai towards Pune when the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle. The speeding car rammed directly into the divider.
The impact of the crash was so severe that an iron sheet from the divider pierced through the car, completely damaging the vehicle.
Three people were travelling in the car at the time of the accident. Panic and chaos erupted at the spot after the crash.
After receiving information about the accident, teams from IRB, the police and ambulances immediately reached the scene.
Rescue teams carried out an operation and cut open the car doors and the iron sheet to pull out the trapped occupants.
Two people died on the spot in the accident, while the critically injured person was admitted to a hospital for treatment.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
