Man steps onto metro track in Noida, driver's alertness saves him at last minute
After the man was rescued, he was taken by the police for questioning. Officials later said that he appeared to be mentally unwell.

A major accident was averted on the Blue Line of the Delhi Metro network when the driver of a train applied emergency brakes to save a man who appeared on the track out of nowhere.
The incident took place at the Noida Sector-16 metro station in the afternoon on Tuesday. The alertness displayed by the train driver saved the man's life.
Following the abrupt braking, panic spread at the station and the metro train was evacuated as a precautionary measure. Meanwhile, police and metro staff acted to rescue the man who had stepped on to the track.
He was subsequently taken for questioning. The police later said that the man, aged between 50 and 60 years, appeared to be mentally unwell.
He was handed over to his family after all the necessary procedures were completed, the police said. The man, fortunately, did not suffer any injuries.
The incident, however, caused a temporary disruption to metro operations on the affected stretch of the Blue Line.
