Noida unrest: Over 390 arrested for arson, vandalism

Over 390 individuals have been arrested in connection with the widespread arson and vandalism during the workers' unrest in Noida. The protests, initially sparked by factory workers demanding higher pay, have now expanded to include domestic workers who are also demonstrating on the streets for a wage hike amid rising inflation. In response to the escalating violence and road blockades across the National Capital Region, the state government has approved an interim wage increase of 3,000 rupees for the workers and formed a committee to resolve the ongoing issues. Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies are maintaining a high alert and conducting flag marches to restore order. Authorities have registered multiple police cases and are investigating a potential larger conspiracy, with the lens on 50 suspicious social media accounts. Officials suspect the involvement of external agents inciting the unrest, citing recovered audio clips and social media chats as evidence of a coordinated effort behind the violent demonstrations.
