4 students injured after wall of under-construction building falls on Faridabad school roof
Four UKG students were injured in Faridabad on Saturday after a wall of an adjacent under-construction building collapsed onto a private school, causing part of the classroom roof to cave in and trapping the children under debris.

Four UKG students, who were attending class, were injured after a wall of an adjacent under-construction building collapsed onto the roof of a private school in Faridabad on Saturday, causing part of the classroom ceiling to cave in and trapping children under the debris. Around 13 students were inside the classroom when the wall collapsed.
Police said the incident took place around 9 am during severe thunderstorms that hit the area. School staff immediately began rescue operations and pulled the children out from beneath the rubble before they were rushed for treatment. The school was evacuated soon after the accident.
Visuals from the spot showed a portion of the collapsed ceiling of the school and debris damaging a ceiling fan inside a classroom, and layers of dust and bricks scattered on benches and outside the school premises.
The injured students were initially taken to a nearby clinic and later shifted to BK Hospital and Faridabad Civil Hospital. The incident occurred on Saturday, which was the final day of classes before the summer vacations, set to begin on Monday (May 25) in Haryana.
Family members rushed to the school and hospitals after receiving information. According to relatives, the children suffered injuries after debris and portions of the collapsed roof fell directly onto them. One parent said her daughter suffered head injuries and required multiple stitches.
Preliminary investigation suggests the collapse may have originated from an under-construction four-storey house located behind the school.
Police said the building owner, identified as Deepanshu, was allegedly constructing a four-inch wall without support pillars. According to officials, the school management had repeatedly raised concerns and requested safety measures during the construction work.
“We are gathering information regarding the construction and verifying whether proper permission had been obtained. Action will be taken as per law,” a senior police officer said.
School manager Moolchand Sharma alleged that the accident occurred due to negligence during construction and said the school would pursue legal action against the owner of the adjacent property.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine whether safety norms and construction regulations were violated.
