2 Omicron variant cases reported in Karnataka: Health ministry

Two Omicron variant cases have been reported in Karnataka, the Union health ministry said today. Both the patients are men aged 66 years and 46 years with mild symptoms. Severe symptoms have not been noted, an official said during a press conference.

Meanwhile, 373 cases of Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 have been detected in 29 nations so far.

TVK leader C Joseph Vijay on Sunday took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu amid a sea of supporters, his friends and family, and several political leaders. Eight other TVK leaders were sworn in besides him, as ministers in the new government. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also attended the ceremony.
