Delta variant driving cases in UK? Here's what top virologist Dr Ravindra Gupta says

The B.1.617.1 and B.1.617.2 variants of the Covid-19, first identified in India, have been named as 'Kappa' and 'Delta' respectively by the WHO, as it named various variants of the coronavirus using Greek alphabets to simplify public discussions and also help remove the stigma from the names.

Meanwhile, Britain recorded no new deaths within 28 days of a positive Covid-19 test on Tuesday.

However, scientists in the UK have urged the government to exercise caution when deciding a scheduled timeline for an end to all lockdown restrictions amid growing fears of a third wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
