CBSE re-evaluation portal draws complaints as Class 12 students report login issues
Several CBSE Class 12 students complained about login issues and alleged glitches on the re-evaluation portal after the application window opened on May 19. However, the board has maintained that the system is functioning properly and only minor technical issues were reported.

A fresh wave of confusion and frustration hit several CBSE Class 12 students on Tuesday after many claimed they were unable to log into the board’s re-evaluation portal shortly after the application process began.
Students took to social media platform X, alleging that the CBSE portal had either crashed or was not allowing them to submit applications for answer sheet verification and re-evaluation.
Some users said the page was repeatedly freezing, while others claimed the login window failed to open properly.
However, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has dismissed reports of any major technical breakdown and insisted that the portal is functioning normally.
STUDENTS SAY ‘PORTAL NOT WORKING’
The complaints started surfacing soon after the board opened the re-evaluation and answer sheet verification process for Class 12 students.
Several candidates said they were worried about missing deadlines because of login failures and repeated loading errors.
Many students shared screenshots online claiming that the website was either unresponsive or showing incomplete pages. The issue quickly gained attention as anxious students rushed to complete the process within the limited application window.
The board has allowed students to apply for verification and re-evaluation between May 19 and May 22.
CBSE SAYS SYSTEM IS FINE
Speaking to PTI, CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said only a few complaints were received earlier in the day and that the problem appeared to be temporary.
"Sometimes, when candidates open the same page, an earlier saved page opens again. I asked them to restart the computer. After that, no phone calls have been received by me," he said.
Bhardwaj also advised students to wait for some time and try again if they face temporary issues while logging in or submitting forms.
He strongly denied claims of a major portal crash and said the National Informatics Centre (NIC), which manages the website infrastructure, had not reported any technical concerns.
"I don’t think so because the NIC is taking care of our website, and everything is going well from their point of view also," he added.
The board further clarified that the CAPTCHA feature had been removed after some students reported that it was not visible on the portal.
LOWER FEES, EASIER ACCESS
This year, CBSE has significantly reduced the fees for students seeking access to answer sheets and re-evaluation.
Revised Fee Structure
Answer sheet photocopy: Rs 100 (earlier Rs 700)
Verification of marks: Rs 100 (earlier Rs 500)
Rechecking of each answer: Rs 25 per question
Students will be able to access rechecked answer sheets between May 26 and May 29.
The board introduced the revised process following concerns raised by students and parents regarding the On-Screen Marking system used during evaluation.
As thousands of students now attempt to access the portal simultaneously, many will be hoping for a smoother experience in the coming days.
