CBSE re-evaluation: Over 1.6 lakh students, 3.8 lakh answer sheet verification requests

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has refuted allegations of technical glitches in its Post-Result Services Portal, asserting that the platform remained fully functional throughout the application window from June 2 to June 7 despite concerns raised by some students and parents.

The board said the verification and re-evaluation portal operated seamlessly during the notified period under the supervision of government technical agencies and experts from the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

Highlighting the scale of participation, CBSE said more than 1.6 lakh students successfully submitted requests related to over 3.8 lakh answer books during the six-day window, which it said underscored the smooth functioning and widespread use of its post-result services.

PORTAL MONITORED FOR CYBER THREATS

The board stated that the system was under continuous surveillance by dedicated cybersecurity teams throughout the operational period to safeguard it against malicious traffic and cyber threats.

It added that dedicated CBSE teams actively assisted students through helpdesks and grievance redressal channels, providing support during the application process.

CBSE EXPLAINS ‘ROLL NUMBER NOT FOUND’ MESSAGE

Addressing reports in sections of the media and social media about the portal's functioning, CBSE clarified that the message "Roll Number Not Found" appeared only when a candidate had not successfully applied during the first phase of the post-result process, the Answer Books Photocopy Application Window.

The Board reiterated that only candidates who had applied for scanned copies of their answer books during the earlier stage were eligible to proceed to the subsequent stages of verification of issues observed and re-evaluation of answers.

CBSE said it remains committed to ensuring a transparent, student-centric and seamless post-result process. The Board added that it continues to address genuine concerns raised by students through its grievance redressal mechanisms, helpline support and other communication channels.
