Arvind Kejriwal appeals for free bus travel for NEET UG re-exam candidates
As the NEET-UG re-test on June 21 approaches, Aam Aadmi Party's national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, has appealed to all Chief Ministers to provide free bus travel for students appearing in the examination. He also praised Bihar and Haryana for extending free bus services to NEET candidates.
Ahead of the NEET re-exam on June 21, students and parents are dealing with renewed travel and financial concerns as they prepare for the high-stakes examination.
Amid this, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has appealed to Chief Ministers across states to provide free bus travel for students appearing in the re-exam, arguing that families are already carrying the emotional and financial burden of the re-test.
In a post on X, Kejriwal said students should not have to struggle to reach examination centres and urged state governments to ease travel costs, stressing that logistical challenges should not add to the stress surrounding the examination.
BIHAR AND HARYANA FOLLOW PUNJAB’S INITIATIVE
Kejriwal also appreciated Bihar and Haryana for introducing free bus travel facilities for NEET candidates after Punjab announced a similar measure.
He said such initiatives could make travel easier and safer for the over 22 lakh students expected to appear for the examination.
He expressed hope that more states would adopt similar steps to support aspirants nationwide.
Meanwhile, addressing concerns over earlier irregularities, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan assured candidates that authorities are working to ensure a transparent and error-free examination process for the NEET-UG re-test.
He said necessary arrangements are being made to maintain the credibility of the examination and provide a smooth experience for students.
With more than 22 lakh candidates involved, the NEET-UG re-test is one of the largest examination exercises in the country. As students prepare for the crucial test, calls for support measures such as free travel and assurances of transparency reflect the wider effort to reduce stress and ensure a smoother examination experience.
