Education in Covid times: Will SOPs ensure safety of children in schools?

Come September 1st, children will be back in schools in more states. Schools in Delhi are reopening for Classes 9 to 12, Classes 4 and 5 in Haryana and Classes from 8th to 12 in Telangana as well as in Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, The Delhi Disaster Management Authority has released guidelines to be followed by the schools in the national capital.

According to the guidelines, only 50 per cent students per classroom are allowed, mandatory thermal screening, staggered lunch breaks, alternate seating arrangements and avoiding routine guest visits are some of them. So, will these SOPs ensure safety of kids in schools?
