The National Testing Agency (NTA) has cancelled the NEET UG 2026 examination following allegations of a paper leak. The decision comes after inputs from central agencies raised concerns over the integrity of the May 3 test. The central government has ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation probe to investigate the circulation of an alleged guess paper and the potential involvement of an organised racket. According to the investigation, the leak allegedly originated from a printing press, with an accused from Sikar, Rajasthan, sending the paper from Kerala. Reports indicate that at least 140 questions, including the entire chemistry section, matched the leaked guess paper. The National Testing Agency confirmed that a re-examination will be conducted. Students will not be required to register again or pay additional fees, and previously paid fees will be refunded. Fresh admit cards will be issued for the upcoming test. Meanwhile, the Congress student wing, NSUI, staged protests at Shastri Bhavan in the national capital against the central government over the examination irregularities.
