Meham Assembly Constituency
Meham is a small town located in the Rohtak district of the Indian state of Haryana. It is one of the 90 assembly constituencies in Haryana and is one of the two sub-divisions of the Rohtak district. As a tehsil, Meham is divided into two community development blocks: Meham and Lakhan-Majra.
According to the 2001 census, Meham has an estimated population of 18,166. The gender distribution is 54% males and 46% females. The average literacy rate in Meham is 66%, with male literacy at 72% and female literacy at 59%. As of 2019, the total number of voters in the constituency, including general, overseas, proxy, and postal voters, was 1,39,953.
2019 Assembly Election Results:
- Independent Candidate: Balraj Kundu received 49,418 votes and won the election.
- Congress: Anand Singh Dangi received 37,371 votes.
- BJP: Shamsher Kharkara received 36,106 votes.
2014 Assembly Election Results:
- Congress: Anand Singh Dangi received 50,728 votes and won the election.
- BJP: Shamsher Kharkara received 41,071 votes.
- INLD: Satish Das received 32,020 votes.
