Chenani Assembly Constituency

Chenani is a town and tehsil located in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is one of the 90 assembly constituencies in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and forms a part of the Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency. Additionally, Chenani is recognized as a notified municipal council.

Historically, before 1947, Chenani was an internal jagir under the rule of the Chandel dynasty within the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The towns significance has increased notably due to the construction of Asias longest tunnel from Chenani to Nashri.

In the 2014 Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly elections, the Chenani seat was won by Dina Nath from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
