Achalpur Assembly Constituency

Achalpur Assembly Constituency is one of the 288 constituencies of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. It is situated in the Amravati district and is one of the eight assembly segments located there. Achalpur is part of the Amravati Lok Sabha constituency, along with five other assembly segments: Badnera, Amravati, Teosa, Daryapur (SC), and Melghat (ST).

According to the delimitation of parliamentary and assembly constituencies in 2008, the Achalpur assembly constituency comprises the following areas: 1. Chandurbazar Tehsil, 2. Part of Achalpur Tehsil, including the revenue circles of Shirajgaon Kasba, Achalpur, and the municipal council area of Achalpur. Achalpur and Paratwada are twin cities located in the Satpura range, surrounded by the tributaries of the Chandrabhaga River, namely Sapan and Bichhan.

As per the 2011 Census, the population of Achalpur Tehsil was 112,311, with a gender distribution of 52% males and 48% females. The average literacy rate in Achalpur is 88%, with male literacy at 54.41% and female literacy at 46%.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Bacchu Kadu of the Prahar Janshakti Party (PHJSP) won the seat with 81,252 votes. Aniruddha Subhanrao Deshmukh of the Congress party secured 72,856 votes, while Sunita Narendrarav Fiske of the Shiv Sena (SHS) received 15,064 votes.
