The Akkalkot constituency is located in Solapur district and is a part of the Solapur Lok Sabha constituency. The constituency comprises Akkalkot taluka and the revenue circles of Boramani, Musti, and Valsang in Solapur South taluka. Akkalkot is situated 38 kilometers southeast of Solapur and is near the Karnataka border.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Sachin Kalyanshetti of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged victorious. In the 2014 elections, the constituency was won by Siddharam Satlingappa Mhetre of the Congress.
