Hingna is one of the twelve assembly constituencies located in the Nagpur district of Maharashtra. It forms a part of the Ramtek Lok Sabha constituency. The Hingna constituency encompasses Hingna tehsil and parts of Nagpur Rural tehsil, including the towns of Wadi, Davaalmetee, and Sonegaon, all situated within Nagpur district.

Geographically, Hingna is positioned as an industrial suburb of Nagpur city, hosting industries that operate from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) areas. It lies approximately 15.06 kilometers (9 miles) away from the districts main city, Nagpur, and is 672 kilometers (418 miles) away from the states capital, Mumbai. The primary river flowing through the region is the Vena River.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Samir Meghe from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged victorious, securing 121,305 votes. His main opponent from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Vijay Ghodmare, received 75,138 votes. Additionally, the None of the Above (NOTA) option was selected by 2,256 voters.

This constituency is significant not only for its industrial contributions but also for its political dynamics within the Nagpur district and the larger state of Maharashtra.
