Karad Narth Assembly Constituency

Karad North is an Assembly constituency located in the Satara district of Maharashtra. It is part of the Satara Lok Sabha constituency, along with five other Assembly segments, namely Wai, Karad South, Koregaon, Satara, and Patan. 

According to the 2011 Census, the total population of Karad town and its surrounding villages was 74,355. The demographic distribution includes 52% males and 48% females. The average literacy rate in Karad is 76%, with male literacy at 80% and female literacy at 72%. 

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, NCP candidate Shamsundar (Shamrao) Patil retained the seat with 100,509 votes. An independent candidate, Manoj Bhimrao Ghorpade, received 51,294 votes. In the 2014 elections, Shamsundar (Shamrao) Patil of the NCP also emerged victorious, securing 78,324 votes, while Congress's D Irayshil Gyanadev Kadam garnered 57,817 votes.
