Meera Bhayandar Assembly Constituency

Meera Bhayandar is one of the 288 assembly constituencies in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is located in the Thane district and is one of the 18 assembly constituencies within the district. The constituency comprises parts of the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation and a section of the Thane tehsil.

Meera Bhayandar is also part of the Thane Lok Sabha constituency, along with five other assembly segments: Kopri-Pachpakhadi, Ovala-Majiwada, Thane, Airoli, and Belapur.

According to the 2011 Census, the population of Meera-Bhayandar was recorded at 809,378. The majority of the population in this region follows Hinduism, followed by Islam and Christianity.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, independent candidate Geeta Bharat Jain won the seat with a margin of 79,527 votes. In the previous election held in 2014, BJP candidate Narendra Mehta secured victory with a margin of 91,468 votes.
