Nashik East Assembly Constituency

Nashik East is one of the 288 assembly constituencies in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is located in the Nashik district, which lies on the banks of the Godavari River and is situated to the north of the state capital, Mumbai. Nashik is an ancient city and is the fourth largest city in the northern region of Maharashtra.

From a historical perspective, Nashik holds mythological, social, and cultural significance. It is considered one of the most sacred places in the world and is known as a prominent Hindu pilgrimage site. Nashik is renowned for hosting the prestigious Simhastha Kumbh Mela, which is held every 12 years.

According to the 2011 Census, the population of Nashik was approximately 1,486,053, with 782,517 males and 703,536 females.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, the Nashik East seat was won by Rahul Uttamrao Dhikale of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who secured victory with 86,304 votes.
