Ramtek Assembly Constituency

Ramtek is one of the twelve assembly constituencies located in the Nagpur district of Maharashtra, India. It forms a part of the Ramtek Lok Sabha constituency (reserved for Scheduled Castes), which also includes five other assembly segments: Katol, Hingna, Umred (SC), Kamthi, and Savner.

Ramtek is a notable tourist destination, featuring attractions like the Khindsi Lake and Ramdham, a theme park situated on the Jabalpur National Highway. Ramdham is renowned for its replica temples and has been expanded into the Lighthouse Water Park and Resort, which includes a water park, resort, adventure zone, agro zone, and bird zone.

As per the 2001 Indian Census, Ramtek had a population of 22,517, with males constituting 51% and females 49%. The average literacy rate in Ramtek is 75%, with male literacy at 82% and female literacy at 68%.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Independent candidate Ashish Jaiswal won the Ramtek seat with 67,419 votes. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Dwaram Mallikarjun Ram Reddy received 43,006 votes. In the 2014 assembly elections, Dwaram Mallikarjun Ram Reddy of BJP had won this seat, while Ashish Jaiswal of Shiv Sena was the runner-up.
