Sillod Assembly Constituency

Sillod Assembly Constituency is one of the 288 legislative assembly constituencies in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is part of the Jalna Lok Sabha constituency, which also includes five other assembly segments: Badnapur, Jalna, and Bhokardan in Jalna district, and Phulambri and Paithan in Aurangabad district.

According to the 2011 Indian Census, Sillod had a population of 58,230, with males constituting 51.64% and females 48.35% of the population. The town has an average literacy rate of 83.32%, with male literacy at 89.74% and female literacy at 76.47%.

In 2019, Abdul Sattar left the Indian National Congress and joined Shiv Sena. He has been a three-time member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly representing the Sillod constituency.

In the 2014 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Abdul Sattar Abdul Nabi from the Congress party won the seat with 96,038 votes, defeating BJPs Suresh Pandurang Banker, who secured 82,117 votes.
