Fake Mounjaro racket busted in Gurugram: Is your Mounjaro real? Here's how to check

Gurugram drug controller officers intercepted a car in DLF Phase IV, seizing fake Mounjaro injections worth nearly fifty-six lakh rupees. The counterfeit weight loss and diabetes drugs lacked proper cold chain storage and licenses, leading to the arrest of two men. Investigations revealed the fake consignment traces back to Delhi's Bhagirath Palace, a major wholesale pharma market. The counterfeit packaging featured incorrect fonts, missing storage labels, and unauthorized punctuation marks. The drug manufacturer confirmed the seizure, warning of severe health risks associated with fake GLP-1 medications, including hypoglycemic shock and bacterial contamination. The accused reportedly sold the spurious injections at a discounted price through an online business portal without a valid license, with some shipments already traced to Hyderabad. Authorities have flagged specific batch numbers and urged patients to verify their medication through barcode scanners and registered pharmacies to avoid severe medical complications.
