Hyderabad-bound Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt gets bomb threat via email
An email warning of a bomb on Lufthansa flight LH-754 before landing at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport prompted an immediate security alert and activation of emergency protocols.
A security alert was triggered at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport after a bomb threat email was received regarding a Lufthansa flight arriving from Germany's Frankfurt, officials said on Friday.
Airport sources told India Today that the airline's customer support received an email claiming that a bomb had been planted on flight LH-754 and that it would be detonated before the aircraft reached Shamshabad. Security agencies were immediately alerted, and emergency protocols were initiated.
The flight landed safely at the airport, following which the aircraft was moved to the isolation bay for a detailed security inspection.
Bomb disposal teams and airport security personnel began a thorough examination of the plane. Officials said further checks were underway and no immediate threat had been confirmed.

TWO FLIGHTS DIVERTED
In a separate development, two incoming flights to Shamshabad Airport were diverted due to adverse weather conditions caused by strong winds.
A flight arriving from Pune was diverted to Vijayawada, while an Emirates flight from Dubai was rerouted to Bengaluru.
Sources said both flights attempted to land at Shamshabad twice but were unable to do so due to heavy wind impact. As a precaution, air traffic authorities directed the aircraft to alternate airports.
Airport officials said operations were being monitored closely, with both security and weather-related disruptions handled according to standard procedures.
