Punjabi singer Inder Kaur, kidnapped 6 days ago, found dead in Ludhiana canal
The singer had left her house to buy groceries on May 13. She was allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint by the suspect, Sukhwinder Singh, on that day.

Inder Kaur (also known as Yashinder Kaur), a 29-year-old Punjabi singer, was found dead six days after she was allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint six days ago. During the early hours of Tuesday, the local police recovered her body from the Neelo Canal.
According to the police complaint filed by the victim's brother, Jotinder Singh, the singer had left her house in her Ford Figo car around 8:30 PM on May 13 to buy groceries; however, she never returned. Following her disappearance, the family suspected Sukhwinder Singh, alias Sukha, a resident of Bhaloor village in Moga, who had been obsessively pressuring Inder to marry him.
The duo connected on Instagram three years ago and soon became friends. However, upon discovering that Sukhwinder was already married with children, Inder severed ties and rejected his marriage proposal, which left the accused nursing a deep grudge.
Following the murder, the police now suspect that Sukhwinder travelled from Canada to Punjab via Nepal specifically to carry out the murder. On May 13, he and his accomplices allegedly intercepted the singer's car, kidnapped her at gunpoint, and subsequently murdered her before dumping her body into the Neelo Canal. Immediately after committing the crime, the accused fled back to Canada using the same Nepal route.
The victim’s family has raised serious questions over the police's handling of the case. They stated that an FIR against Sukhwinder Singh and his associate, Karamjit Singh, was registered at the Jamalpur Police Station as early as May 15, but timely action could have potentially saved her life.
The police have retrieved the body from the canal and moved it to the mortuary of the Civil Hospital in Samrala for a post-mortem examination. Jamalpur Police Station SHO Balbir Singh stated that a case has been registered under relevant sections and active efforts are underway to trace and arrest the fleeing accomplices.
