Man alleges harassment before dying by suicide on camera; cops hint at affair
According to the police, the man, aged 20, shot himself in the head using his father's licenced firearm. He took the extreme step in the presence of his 5-year-old niece.

A 20-year-old man died by suicide and filmed the act on his mobile phone in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad district, with the police suspecting that the case could be related to a love affair. He alleged in the video that he was being severely harassed.
According to the police, he shot himself in the head using his father's licenced firearm. The man has been identified as Farhat Ali. He took the extreme step in the presence of his five-year-old niece.
The sound of the gunshot, followed by the child’s screams, threw the entire household into panic and chaos. The family rushed to help, but reportedly found that the room was latched from the inside.
They eventually managed to enter the room by breaking a window pane. Inside, they found Farhat lying in a pool of blood.
In a nearly 7-minute-long video left behind by him, the young man said he was facing severe harassment.
"I am leaving evidence with you... I am being harassed a lot... Please do not harass my family... But whoever has hurt me will meet their doom," Farhat said before the camera.
While the incident prima facie appears to have resulted from a love affair, the police said they were investigating it from all possible angles. Farhat's mobile phone has been confiscated by the police.
According to Farhat's mother, he used to work in Punjab and had returned home just days before the incident. She said that her son was talking to his niece before he killed himself.
Others in the house were sleeping at the time, she added. Farhat's mobile phone has been confiscated by the police.
