A video allegedly showing Vishal Agarwal, father of the teenager accused in the 2024 Pune Porsche crash case that killed two engineers, celebrating with family members has gone viral on social media. The clip has triggered sharp reactions from the family of one of the victims.

The undated video, which has emerged online, is said to have been recorded days after the Supreme Court granted bail to Agarwal on March 10. In the footage, he is seen dancing with relatives at what appears to be a restaurant gathering while guests cheer and clap.

Agarwal can be seen dancing to the song Bambai Se Aaya Mera Dost while wearing flower garlands and another garland made of currency notes. At one point, his son appears to lift him as others applaud. His wife is also seen participating in the celebrations.

India Today could not independently verify the authenticity or date of the video. However, it has been widely circulated across social media platforms in recent days.

VICTIM'S FATHER SLAMS CELEBRATIONS

Reacting to the viral video, Suresh Koshta, father of one of the victims, Ashwini Koshta, criticised both the celebrations and the judicial process.

"They are mocking common citizens," he told news agency ANI, alleging that there was little fear of the law among the accused. Koshta also questioned provisions related to juvenile offenders and said stricter punishments were needed to deter similar crimes.

"The Supreme Court should pass a judgment that instils fear of the law among people," he said. "If punishment awarded by the High Court is later overturned, it sends the wrong message."

He further demanded cancellation of bail for the accused and stricter action against all those allegedly involved in the evidence tampering case.

SUPREME COURT GRANTED BAIL IN MARCH

The Supreme Court granted bail to Vishal Agarwal on March 10 in connection with the alleged blood sample swapping case linked to the Pune Porsche crash investigation.

A bench of Justices B V Nagarathna and Ujjal Bhuyan granted him relief, noting that other co-accused had already received bail and that Agarwal had spent nearly 22 months in custody.

Investigators have alleged that Agarwal was part of a conspiracy to swap blood samples belonging to the minor accused in an attempt to obtain a "nil alcohol" report after the crash.

The case relates to the May 19, 2024 crash in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar area, where a Porsche allegedly driven by a 17-year-old boy under the influence of alcohol rammed into a motorcycle, killing two IT professionals.

The incident sparked nationwide outrage and led to multiple investigations into allegations of evidence tampering and attempts to influence the probe.

Authorities later alleged that medical evidence was manipulated to shield the minor accused, including claims that payments were made to alter blood test results.
