CCTV footage shows Twisha Sharma at a salon on May 12

Fresh CCTV footage has surfaced in the Twisha Sharma death case, showing the 33-year-old visiting a beauty parlour just hours before she died by suicide. Twisha's in-laws had previously told investigators that she had stepped out for a salon visit on May 12. She was found hanging at the marital home in Bhopal hours later. The footage is expected to become a crucial part of the probe as police attempt to piece together Twisha's final movements.

Twisha, who was married to Bhopal-based lawyer Samarth Singh, visited 'Expression Beauty Parlour' on May 12. She spent around three hours there. The CCTV footage shows her relaxing at the salon and getting a head massage.

Hours later, Twisha, a model and an actor, was found hanging from a gymnastic rope at her marital home in Bhopal's Katara Hills area.

While the post-mortem report cited hanging as the cause of her death, Twisha's family pointed to multiple injury marks on her body, alleging foul play. Her parents have claimed that Twisha was harassed for dowry and was mentally tortured after her marriage to Samarth five months ago.

On Friday, the Madhya Pradesh High Court allowed a second autopsy of Twisha's body - a key demand of her parents. It will be carried out by a team from AIIMS Delhi. The order came as Twisha's husband, Samarth, on the run for 10 days, withdrew his bail application and surrendered before the court.

TWISHA SHARMA'S FINAL HOURS

Crucially, the CCTV footage from the salon reveals that Twisha doesn't appear stressed or mentally disturbed.

The owner of the parlour has told Times Now that Twisha's mother-in-law, retired judge Giribala Singh, contacted her a day after the incident.

Kiran Parihar, the owner, claimed Giribala sought details about the services Twisha availed at her salon and CCTV records. She also claimed that Giribala later sent 3-4 advocates to the parlour to inspect the CCTV footage, Times Now reported.

The CCTV footage from Twisha's in-laws' house has also raised troubling questions. The footage shows Twisha going upstairs towards the terrace around 7.20 pm. Her body was brought downstairs by her husband and two others nearly an hour later.

The police are yet to find out what happened during those 60 minutes. After being brought down, Twisha was administered CPR on the staircase landing. However, it was unsuccessful. Questions have been raised on why immediate medical assistance was not given.

Twisha's body has been kept at the AIIMS Bhopal mortuary. Previously, her family refused to cremate her until concrete action was taken. It remains to be seen what the second autopsy reveals and if it differs from the first report.
